Why can't I place a Repair Cupboard?

A cupboard can only be placed if all of these are true:

• No other protected building is too close. A cupboard can't be placed near the structural elements of a building that already has one — this is the most common reason

• You have building privilege on the spot: either no other cupboard controls this area, or you're authorized by it

• The structural element you're standing on belongs to a building that doesn't already have a cupboard — one per building

• The spot isn't blocked by terrain or other structures

How to tell which one it is. If you see "Cupboard privilege required to build here", you're inside someone else's cupboard zone. If you see "Can't stack building privileges", this building already has a cupboard, or another protected building is too close — move further away from it and try again.
