What are Solo, Duo and Trio servers?

These are survival servers with a hard cap on how many people can play together: one, two or three. The limit isn't an honour system — the server enforces it.

What's capped:

• the size of your team;

• how many players you can authorize in a Repair Cupboard;

• how many people can use a code lock.

The cupboard and lock caps count everyone besides the owner, so on a Duo server the owner plus one more is the maximum.

What it looks like when you hit a limit. The cupboard simply won't open for a player who would be over the cap — they get an "authorization limit" message instead of the usual auto-authorization. With a code lock it's less obvious: the correct code stops working. Entering the right code on a full lock is refused, so a friend can know the code and still not get in.

How to free a slot. Changing the lock's code clears its user list, and so does picking the door up and placing it again. After that the people you want back in enter the code as usual.

Teaming reports. Playing together beyond the limit — sharing a base, running as a larger group — is against the rules of these servers. There's a Teaming category in the report menu for exactly this, and it's only shown on Solo, Duo and Trio servers.

How to find them. Look for the SOLO, DUO and TRIO tags in the server list.

If you want to play in a bigger group, pick a regular server — the limits there are unchanged.
