What is the Off-Screen Marker and how do I track clanmates on screen?

The Information tab contains one setting:

• Off-Screen Marker: When enabled, directional markers appear on the screen edges to indicate where your teammates are when they are outside your field of view, helping you track them without turning the camera or opening the map.
