What is the Patrol Helicopter and how do I shoot it down?

Every few hours a Patrol Helicopter flies over the map. You'll see "Warning! A patrol helicopter has appeared in the sky." and its icon on the map.

Who it attacks. It patrols monuments.

• On PvP servers it attacks players who carry a weapon, wear armour or aim at it.

• On PvE servers it only fights back if you shoot at it.

It doesn't attack players in a safe zone unless they shoot at it. It fires a machine gun and rockets. The rockets hurt players but don't damage buildings.

Shooting it down. It's tough — bring a team and plenty of ammo. Hits to the cockpit and the tail deal extra damage. When it's badly damaged it starts smoking and fires more aggressively.

After the crash. The wreck burns for a few minutes — stay out of the fire, it hurts even through armour. Several crates with valuable loot appear around the wreck, and the crash site is marked on everyone's map. Parts of the wreck can be broken with a pickaxe for resources. The player who brings it down also gets experience.

If nobody fights it, the helicopter leaves after a while.
