What's the difference between a Clan and a Team?

Oxide: Survival Island has two separate social systems: Clans and Teams. They serve different purposes and work independently of each other.

Clans

A Clan is a larger social group up to 15 for community and communication. Clan features include:

  • Clans have a rank system (Leader, Officer, Member).

  • Clans appear in the Clan List where other players can find and join them.

Teams

A Team is a small group of up to 5 players who play together on a server. Team features include:

  • Team members have their own markers and colors visible on the map.

  • You can see teammate HP bars and names highlighted.

  • Teams persist across servers - your team stays the same no matter which server you join.

  • Teams have a dedicated Group voice channel.

Key Differences

  • Size: Teams are small (up to 5), Clans are larger (up to 15)

  • Purpose: Teams are for direct gameplay cooperation, Clans are for community and social features.

  • You can be in both a Team and a Clan at the same time.
