What can I get from a downed Patrol Helicopter?

When the Patrol Helicopter is shot down, it crashes and the crash site is marked on everyone’s map. There are two ways to get loot there.

Wreck pieces. The helicopter breaks into three pieces. Mine them with a pickaxe or any other tool for breaking rocks to get High Quality Metal. Bigger pieces give more, and you also get experience for each piece.

Crates. Several crates with valuable loot appear around the wreck. They can hold weapons, armour, components and High Quality Metal.

Good to know:

Be quick. The wreck pieces disappear 10 minutes after the crash.
Watch the fire. For the first few minutes the wreck burns, and the fire hurts even through armour. Wait until it goes out.
It’s first come, first served. Anyone can mine the wreck and open the crates — not just the player who shot the helicopter down. Expect other players to head for the crash site.
Crates stay. The crates don’t disappear on their own, but someone else may open them first.
